Taju Shoaga, Screenwriter/Spoken Word
Taju Shoaga, a Screenwriter/Spoken Word artist from Missouri City, TX, developed the passion for writing in his 10th grade year of high school, when faced with the challenging task of passing his English Literature Class. Potentially facing summer school, Taju single-handedly re-wrote the play Antigone in a modern day format, which was suppose to be a group assignment. The group received an A and Taju discovered his inner love for writing. Taju decided to further his education at Lamar University where he obtained a Bachelors Degree in Communications. He’s written two feature length scripts and has put together several Spoken Word video’s that have been featured on everything from local radio stations such as 97.9 and 93.7, to Worldstarhiphop and Russell Simmons All Def Poetry. His most recent piece “Liberty and Justice” is currently on Facebook with over 100,000 views and counting.
